Play N Trade on Saturday hosted a free costume contest and party on June 11th, 2011!
Play N Trade ColonialHeights and Stories Comics joined forces to give you a chance to win some great prizes! It was free to enter, and rewards were one prize from each store in any of these categories:

Ann Crispin In-Store Book Signing
Ann C. Crispin, writer of the Pirates Of The Caribbean Prequel The Price Of Freedom (and Star Trek, Star Wars, V The Visitors, and other books) was signing hardback copies of her newest book at our Forest Hill location on May 19th Thursday Night.
On Friday and Saturday, Ann Crispin was at Regal Commonwealth Theater in Midlothian for the release of Pirates Of The Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides, promoting her new book in the lobby Friday 6:00-10:30 pm and Saturday 12:00-10:00 pm. Séance and Tarot Readings
Elizabeth Bissette guided a live tour and seance along with
tarot readings. There was a short pendulum tour through the
aisles and a Q&A period followed. While many of us may be
skeptics,
let's all look at this as entertainment and a learning experience!
This event started

Bat Appreciation Day Sale
During the
weekend of
April 15-17, everything in the store

Play 'n' Trade Midnight Release Party
On February 14th 2011, Stories teamed up with Play'n'Trade in Colonial Heights to provide prizes and free discount cards to all the participants.
First Annual Cornchip Day Sale
National Corn Chip Day is January 29th, and this year we decided to honor the chip with a two-day sale and free corn chips for all customers!
Customers also had the option of submitting their corniest jokes for a free issue of X-Force #1 (by the one and only teen heart throb Rob Liefeld)! The best (or worst?) jokes got posted to the Stories facebook feed.
Halloween Costume Party And Contest
Stories celebrated Halloween 2010 with a huge sale and a costume party that lasted all weekend at all three locations. There were treats, prizes, and many fantastic costumes!

First Stories Paranormal Investigation
One night in the summer of 2010, two paranormal investation groups came to the Forest Hill location in search of evidence that the store is haunted.
Their findings suggested that the store is in fact a home for paranormal activity. What do you believe?
Dave Prowse at Stories
Dave Prowse, best known for his portrayal of Darth Vader in the beloved original Star Wars trilogy, is a friend of ours and has visited the store for signings.
